Seeing is believing

Below is the link to a KS2 reading advent calendar that we have been looking at each day in school, some children have requested the link to continue opening each day at home. It is lovely to see them enjoying a new text each day.

This term our theme is ‘Seeing is Believing’, starting with the book – ‘Oliver and the Seawigs’ by Philip Reeve, leading to ‘the Polar Express’ by Chris Van Allsberg. Over this half term we will be focussing on light and shadows within Science, explorers, different types of poetry, multiplication and division, as well as the Gunpowder plot, and coding within computing.

We have been learning all about the Hindu festival of light 'Diwali'. Year three have taken part in Indian dance workshops to enhance their understanding of Indian culture.

The children have created their own rambling isles with fantastic seawigs based on our story, we have added our very own sea monkeys too, don't they look great on display. In forest school they have also created their own amazing landwigs!

The children have been looking at light and shadows, they have created shadow boxes and puppets to retell the story of the foggy, foggy forest.
