No Pens Wednesday 10th February 2016
Across the school the children have been busy taking part in numeracy activities and games all day by putting down their pencils and talking to each other! No Pens Wednesday is a great way to promote speaking and listening, turn taking and sharing through fun sessions.
Reception have been busy on a shape hunt outdoors, playing shape bingo and using the 'grab mats' to show more or less!
Year One stepped into Africa by tasting 7 delicious fruits from the Handa's Surprise story and used the data to find out which fruits were most and least popular! They also played lots of games such as the loop card number game, compare bear games and games on the interactive whiteboard.
Year Two have been learning about time this week and enjoyed playing time bingo today as well as creating their very own symmetrical gardens!
Year Three are busy practising for their Stone Age play which requires lots of speaking and listening through drama. They have also found the time to take part in some mental maths challenges! Fantastic!
Year Four have had a carousel of activities this morning including using the new blue bots to learn about positional language, playing top trumps, battleships and four in a row addition! In the afternoon Year Four took part in an afternoon of orienteering around school!
